This is a fantastic book. I did my senior thesis in high school on it and it was an eye-opening experience. There is no book like it!

Anon: Thanks for your interest! I also keep ""The Pragmatic Programmer", "Design Patterns" (aka "the gang of 4 book"), "The Alchemist" (it was a gift from a friend), and a number of John T. Reed books (unfortunately I've loaned a couple out and they weren't returned - humph!).

Most other books I have will eventually find a new home.

This is a big deal.

The people trying to sell us stuff are well aware of the techniques that need to be applied to do so. Those of us being manipulated are often not aware of what is going on. We often assure ourselves that we are. We laugh at commercials. But the money spent manipulating us generates big returns. For all our surface cynicism, we are being taken all the time. To manage our money well, we need to become more aware of how human psychology can be exploited by people making a pitch.

Be careful out there!
