I too am on the fence about annuities. I figure I have 30-40 years to figure them out though. It may be a nice way to secure a steady return with a chunk of your retirement.

This book looks pretty decent, I’ll have to add it to my list.

Cheap – yes, annuities are a tough call. They didn’t really say that annuities were a great deal but rather you can lower your stress a bit with them – which might be worth the cost.

They are really just insurance policies for some of your retirement income.

Sounds like an interesting read. I’m always on the fence with annuities. I think they should pay a higher return than they do, but its definitely a decent way to make sure you have a guaranteed income stream for life (if you buy the right annuity).
