Guinness – there are zoo animals on the island? I had no idea.

TMW – Lol – yes, his weight is the only thing he has battled successfully.

I love how he says that no other mayor/council has tried to remove this benefit (which is true). Unfortunately, he shouldn’t have bothered given the result. That’s like me claiming to “try” to run a marathon and giving up after 5km.

Looks like a Mayor, talks like a Mayor, Stinks like garbage.

I thought about that article this morning before I read your blog and my only thought was that he’s not even a good lawyer with that argument much less a Mayor. At least he can endorse whatever weight loss strategy he is using post political career.

We were starting to quite enjoy our jaunts down to Villiers Street with our garbage. Oh well. Will be very nice to be able to get to the islands again anyway – I hope someone has been feeding the zoo animals over there!

Much kudos to the BIAs, by the way, for keeping things clean. There are many neighbourhoods I’ve been through in the past month where you wouldn’t notice there was a garbage strike even on until relatively recently.
