The 2009 stimulus package signed by president Obama contains quite a few financial stimulus for many different parts of the population. Infrastructure spending, tax cuts make up most of the bill but one of the key aspects to the package is a special cash payment. This won’t be like the general stimulus check of last year but will be given to select groups such as retired veterans on disability.
$250 stimulus check in 2009
A one time payment of $250 will be paid out in 2009 for people in the following groups:
- People currently receiving Social Security.
- State government retirees not eligible for Social Security.
- Veterans receiving pensions from the Department of Veteran Affairs.
- People receiving SSI payments. Supplemental Security Income payments are for people who have little to no income and is intended to meet the basic needs for food, clothing and shelter.
When will I get my stimulus check?
Treasury is supposed to start sending out these checks as soon as possible. This site will be updated when more information becomes available.

Look above, there was someone with 10% that received theirs. There seems to be quite a few from Texas that received theirs. Anyone from PA receive theirs?

hmmm, I guess the VA Dart Board or Roulette Wheel out. Oh well, I guess I will keep checking. I know it’s hard for them to put on their website a breakdown of when you could receive it.
Here in Central Arkansas, 3 of my co-workers have received their checks via direct deposit last night (6/22). I, on the other hand, have not yet received mine and my bank said there is nothing pending as of this morning. Soooo… it appears that the “snafu method” is correct. Just keep waiting… just keep waiting… waiting waiting waiting. 🙂
last 4 are 40 10% service connected bday is1/30 and i live oregon. I called va yesterday and they said a check was processed for me on friday 6/18. Hope that helps!

Just called VA 18008271000, they told me nothing being processed for me as of yet, but it is believed to be going by the SSAN. Good Luck all, will advise when Iget mine

I just called VA and was told that the checks aren’t sent by VA they are sent by US Treasure Depart. and the checks should be all out by the First of July.
Lady also said she has no idea how they are doing it.
I still don’t have mine.

the number is 1-800-827-1000, just ask them if anything has been processed under your social, and you really know that they are checking it for you when they ask what branch you served.

I got mine today. TX, I am like an earlier post(Owed back taxes)…I still got it. I think that everyone is going to get this, it is just a matter of time when you get it. There seems to be no pattern or type of dispersel.

I called the VA this morning for my husband who is 10%. His last two are 55 and they said that they hadn’t gotten that far yet, but possibly tomorrow. They are issuing them by the last two of the SS#.

just got off the phone with a VA rep….all he could tell me is that it was authorized, but not when i would receive it. i’m in pa. i keep reading that if you owe back taxes, or student loans that the money will be taken to pay towards that, anyone have the real scoop on whether thats true or not??
Yes, that is true. If you owe back taxes, are delinquent on student loans, etc, they will apply your $250 to your debt. I have read that some that do owe are still getting their checks, so who really knows???
Ahh… I woke up and checked my account. There it was. . . Now I can go pay some of my medical bills!

I am a female disabled veteran rated at 60% and I live in Texas. I called the VA about 5 minutes ago to check on the status of my payment. I was told that my payment has not been processed yet. They are going by the last two of your Social Security number and they are in the 50’s. My last two are 76. She told me that there are two more batches of payments going out with the last batch being sent by June 30th. She said to call if you have not received it by July 10th so that they can research to find out why you have not received your check/direct deposit. Hope this helps!! 🙂
I just called the VA and was told that a check was mailed to my address yesterday 6/23, even though I owe back taxes I am still getting my stimulus. It looks like the checks are not being apllied to pay off debt. I will keep my fingers crossed for everyone!

To let you guys know: I got my check today, but my father did not get his. My SS# 31 his SS# 8x. I’m an IT network guy so I anlize patterns for a living. The only pattern that I can tell (I can be wrong who knows) is that it is going by SS#last two , but the system seems to have major errors. So it jumps around. My analysis 75% by SS# and 25% seems random. That is all that I can prove. Take it for what its worth. If this is true it would explain why we can?t get a straight answer out of the VA.
we should all just claim we never got it. That way they can run around trying to figure it out like we were.
100% last four 53 in califonia……. nothing in my bank account yet, but did get a bill form the DMV for registsration on my truck for $487 bucks for one year, cause california is in debt so the doubled our vehicle registration fees to help off set the debt…. so i am thinking about moving to arizona or oregon…. little to no state taxes there.
